Baby Songs
The Baby is getting more alert and engaging with his environment, and loves conversations. Sometimes we talk to him in baby languages, random sounds to get his attention, but mostly we talk to him in full sentences, especially since we found out he likes listening to us talking to each other.
The Baby is not a natural lover of baths too, so we have to pull out all stops to make it more enjoyable for him. I started singing to him yesterday, and found that he liked it! Only problem is that I realise I don't know that many baby songs at all! In fact the only ones that came to my mind was the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star (and I had to consciously make sure I sang the order of the letters correctly..heaven forbids if I shall teach him the wrong order of alphabet *facepalm*).
And then, remembering that I want to expose him to as many languages as possible, I decided I should sing some non-English songs. But all I could think of was the Jacky Cheung, David Tao karaoke songs, completely not suitable for small baby, and I don't know the lyrics without prompting anyway. In the end I sang the Mandarin version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Start..only the first 2 lines because that's all I remember *facepalm facepalm*
Off to re-learn the some baby songs!
Here's the lyrics and transliteration of the Mandarin Twinkle Twinkle Little Star song, if you are interested (taken from http://english.cri.cn/7106/2014/05/27/2001s828571.htm):
